It should have been fascinating but I think the author tries too hard to make it neat and package it. The endings always sounded somewhat smug as if pushing the true meaning of the story onto the reader. I don't know, I can't really articulate what exactly was missing. The writing style, too, could have done with some work. It just didn't gel with me as much as I had hoped it to. Unfortunately.
