I quite liked this rather short novel - though I'm more inclined to think of it as a novella than a true novel. One of the things I liked about it is that it's set in Vancouver! Hello, local author! The pace is brisk and the narrative well seasoned with action and dialogue and the hint of romance goes over well. So yeah, I really liked how it began and ended without traipsing over to the side and going on tangents that detract from the narrative rather than adding to it.The only problem I had with this novel was its short length. Because the novel was so short, the author was unable to do as much character and world building as I would have liked. While I liked the protagonist, I didn't get a chance to know her as thoroughly as I would have liked. However, the potential for growth is there and I am definitely interested in knowing more about Rachel, her powers and the various smexy guys around here. I recommend this.
