The story is told in two perspectives. I found that a bit jarring and that perhaps might be the only complaint I had with the entire book. Lucy’s a very interesting character: fun, spontaneous and entirely irreverent. Solange, on the other hand, is, as her status demands, more cautious, quieter. I found that her story was completely eclipsed by Lucy’s. Especially where romance is concerned. The good things about this book (apart from the fact that it is a series) is its lightness. It doesn’t take itself too seriously and that works for it. The dynamics between the characters, the sifting relationships – these are all very enjoyable to read. If you are looking for a serious read with a detailed world and mythos, this is not for you. But if you are looking for an hour or two of entertainment and some explosive chemistry, then pick it up. And start smirking at the rapid fire exchanges between Lucy and Nicholas. I liked it and I recommend it.
