I read her History of Love and was blown away by the sheer poetry of her words so I decided to try this out. This was an earlier work and while it does deal with some of the more interesting aspects of memory and human relationships, I felt that it lacked direction and drama. I was moved to empathize with the protagonist because the idea of having 24 years of your life disappear is more than a little scary. (It would only leave me with 2.) It just seemed that the edges were blurred and the author wasn't quite sure where exactly she was going. I enjoyed the read but it's not a book I'm going to read again.
